Illness – what do you do?
Notify Us – Always
Call the office or email to the office and tell us you are sick, so we know you are home safe.
You can also ask your homestay family to call or email on your behalf.
Medicine
Your homestay family, instructor, and activity assistant cannot give you medicine. You can get painkillers and medicine from a pharmacy.
Virtual Doctors
This is the easiest and quickest way to obtain medical care. If you have medical insurance with Guard.me, they provide virtual doctor appointments. If you don’t have access to Guardme, review the list of pharmacies and clinics at the bottom of this page for more information on how and where you can access online medical consultations.
Hospital
Going to the hospital in Canada is expensive depending on your insurance coverage. Save the hospital for emergencies only.
